Walk Away

There comes a time in everybody's life
that you have to turn your back and simply walk away.
There comes a time in everybody's life
when it hurts you when you go, it hurts you if you stay.
There comes a time, there will be a day
when you have to pack your things and simply walk away.
Walk away, walk away,
yeah, see the children play,
walk away, walk away,
there'll be a brighter day,
There's a stranger in your bed
and you long for yesterday,
but it pains you oh so much,
That you have to walk away.
I remember as a child though it was long ago,
Friends would last forever, at least we thought it so.
There were times for make believe there were times for tears
There were even moments when we'd have to face our fears,
But the greatest fear we ever knew was when we had to say,
Good-bye my good friend, I have to walk away.
Walk away, walk away,
yeah, see the children play,
walk away, walk away,
there'll be a brighter day,
There's a stranger in your bed
and you long for yesterday,
but it pains you oh so much,
That you have to walk away.
Now we're getting older as we spread our wings for flight,
The nest we were accustomed, would soon be out of sight,
We stumble for a moment, our parents they are they there,
to guide us through the hardships, with loving words to share,
But then the end it comes to us on that fateful day,
thats the day we pack our bags and simply walk away.
Walk away, walk away,
yeah, see the children play,
walk away, walk away,
there'll be a brighter day,
There's a stranger in your bed
and you long for yesterday,
but it pains you oh so much,
That you have to walk away.
Here I stand so naked to a world that leaves me cold,
All of what I stood for, no longer may I hold.
She said that it was over, my God was I so blind,
Had it all and happiness, once upon a time,
Now I see me leaving, must be on my way,
Pack up all my feelings...
And simply walk away.
