Choices

When I think about tomorrow
Gotta lean on yesterday
Need to draw from all the lessons
And the truth of what they say

There’s a simple fact to living
If you look close you wll see
The choice you make this morning
Will affect what you will be.

It’s said to be so easy
To excuse the wrongs you’ve made
To blame a friend or family
That’s the price we’ve paid

They say it’s human nature
Or the fault of who we are
The fact we have these failings
Has worked for me so far

My parents they both broke up,
And my school just didn’t care
I’ve got a lot of reasons
Enough for all to share

My parents didn’t love me
I was abused and beaten some
Yes we all have heard the reasons
Count them as they come

The fact though it is simple
You might just find it strange
No matter what you’re blaming
It’s still up to you to change

You see there’s many reasons
And things we can’t control
But the choice we make this morning
Is the truth we all can hold.

Cause life is full of choices
You choose the path you take
As soon as you’re an adult
The choice is yours to make.
