Along the Way (Abridged)

Along the Way (abridged)

Who is moving along the fabled path, the Way?
Where have they come from to meet this Today?
Have they the measure of constant Probability?
What know they of all that is, of Cosmic Reality?

The dancers, seeking newer steps for the dance,
Hold hands out for a touch and now look askance.
The singers, far out to sea, all sing a siren's song
That touches one's heart strings all the daylong.

Painters and storytellers boldly mimic the truth
With their fanciful images and cries of, "forsooth!"
The mystic softly whispers, "It's All under the Rose!"
The poet writes of Love - it's triumphs and it's woes.

The merchant loves gold and so has set an empty goal.
The politician bends the Way and so has sold his soul.
The warrior dresses for death and so he hopes to meet it.
The pacifist embraces peace and so he hopes to keep it.

And still moving...and yet not moving...along the Way.
Yesterday is a fading template for what is called Today.
Tomorrow is but a dream that seems so full of Possibility.
Now is just a moment were the All converges as Reality.
